that's so weird. as if it was walled there for someone the boss knows he/she will be standing there... don't even think it's for the guard too.
... as you can see, no one was there!
I once found a small storage room/cupboard in a newly completed office building with a little window (30cm by 60cm)onto the street (from the second storey) and it had its own little strip-blind with four panels and all the system for turning the panels of the blind. The only thing expected to be in the room for more than a minute was the equipment stored there.
