Happy Deepavali

Happy Deepavali

May the light of goodness triumph over the bad

On every Deepavali, I always think of this.... yummy!

This is apallam, papadam, papad.. and also known as many other names!!

To know more about apallam: click here

Don't get me wrong... there are plenty of other glorious foods that are associated to Deepavali that I loved..... but this one, I really have to have this... in house!

Well, it tasted so good with fish curry (or any curry) with rice.. or simply you can eat this on it's own.

This is how it looks like... still in the packaging..

Well... what is this made off? see the picture below

I got a few packets of these.. and could not wait until meal times... had to fry them.. and have some immediately...

If you noticed.. this is something 'not that' healthy.. and every cardiologist will frown at the sight of this... noticed the oil... still on the appalam??

Who cares.... eat first talk later!!

Well.. my kids accidently dropped some of this.. and it broken into pieces... yummy...

Crispy apallam!!

...damm.. if you suffers from Gout... or prone to it like me... try to avoid this!!

..unless you have the pain killer Voltaren 50mg handy!

Bon Appetit!

Melissa: ... you can get this brand almost anywhere, especially in an Indian shop.

An elderly relative's doctor told her that masturbation sets off a chemical reaction that helps gout. Don't know if it's true, but I can think of worse treatments. I offer this in all earnestness as an aide. It never helped my elderly relative, but she said she wasn't willing to try.

Erik: ...wow. Wait till I tell my wife about this! hehehe

Tried that (including sex) way back then... it is not effective, especially if you have the 'full blown' gout attack.

That is when you beg not to live!

(A gout sufferer, always have the pain killer handy!)
