Brace yourself...

I am scheduled to catch the first flight leaving for Jakarta tomorrow morning. Had gone to the forex guy during lunch time for some Indonesian Rupiah, as pocket money. Will be charging everything else to the credit cards.. to collect points.

This will be a very short trip... and will be leaving for Kuching via KLIA on Wednesday.

Look at that INR1,000,000. I am an instant millionaire... (this is equivalent to RM380!)

It occurs to me that, we are so lucky living in this country; Malaysia.

No doubt, Malaysia is not the best in the world, but we are also not the worst.

With the global economy meltdown is crepping slowly, but steady to this region... and this time around, it would be at least 10 times worst than the 1997 crisis... as the world big brother (the US), is already being hit.

I just have a message to the politicians of Malaysia....

..please wake up!

Brace yourself for the crisis. It should be here before the end of year 2008.

Exabytes - "I Want A MacBook Air" Contest New Website Preview

I wrote about this contest some time ago: click here.

Here is the link to the website that is organising the contest:

Please click at the logo

I am suppose to review their new website and if the judges like my entry, they may consider giving me a MacBook Air! .. and I hope the will! Fingers crossed.

So obediently, I login into the page.

This banner 'jumps' out at me...

So glaring, so wrong!

What's wrong with this? sigh.. I am suppose to polish some apples and say good things in order to win.... looks like my chance has been reduced by 50% on what I gonna say now...

This is supposed to be the No. 1 Malaysia Web Hosting and Malaysia Domain Name registration... with this guy, I do not have the Malaysian feel. Furthermore, he looks like one of their staff... notice this logo on his shirt?

Well, the web designer should be a little bit more creative.... this is what I had come out with...

Well, I am not a web designer, but I hope my my point is clear... Malaysian students...

Also (here goes another 10% of my chances) by using a 'Mat Saleh' picture, it give the impression that this is something high class, but by showing the value of the freebie; RM55 this indicates that the package must expensive! Student nowadays are smarter.... no free lunch!

This is the overview:

"Understanding the need for a proper platform for Final Year Project demonstration, Xtudent Hosting Plan is specially catered to suit students needs in order for them to acquire higher marks, stand out from the rest, even respect from the lecturers! Need that extra edge to shine extra bright than the rest? Xtudent is just the plan for you!"

After reading this, I am wondering how do students achieve higher marks by using Exabytes Xtudent? What are the advantages? Yeah right, because I want to win the Mac I have no choice but to spend some time digging for the 'advantages'.... and I found it. I am not sure a student will dig as deep as I do.

It is like using a Mont Blanc pen to write an essay and get's you more marks... sigh.

This is the testimonial lead:

" So far I have no complaint but praises to the technical support team of Exabytes. You have been very helpful whenever we call. Keep up with the good work. "

Raymond Chin

Damn... using Exabytes means plenty of problems.... must be so difficult to use, until this Raymond Chin has to call their technical support. Do you have this impression?

The first testimonial lead should read like the following:

"I know peanuts about computer and I need to setup a blog to propose to my techie girlfriend. With just a phone call to Exabytes technical support, I was enlighten and set up the proposal blog myself. This impressed my girl and she is now my wife!! "

Raymond - a satisfied Xtudent user.

Not a good example but my point is, the testimonial lead should have something positive, arousing the reader's interest to read more. Then, the readers will automatically click the link to more testimonials...

Come on... if I write some more.. I will ended up winning nothing and angered the judges! But I need to do this review...

I am having a conflict of interest now... duh.

Anyway, here is the finale... and also I just blown the last 41% of my chances of winning... how to win?

See this picture below:

What do you see?

Will you forego you 'entertainment money' to blog? Or any money to do photo sharing??

Wake up... this is the reason not to buy anything from Exabytes. We can get the blog and photo sharing FREE from the internet. You know FREE like in no payments required.

The killer is the word Wordpress.. look carefully... hidden somewhere there.

I am not commenting on the third point as I am sure that any potential clients, will definately surf elsewhere as I already lost my interest to go on further on the the preview sites.

Observation:

This site is being drawn up in a rush... and have not been QC by a qualified marketeers. Nothing interesting here. I am not buying something I can get for free.

Conclusion:

sigh... guess I got to buy my own MacBook Air.

Cheap Good Fast

Well, by now most of you guys will most probably have seen or have heard about this Cheap, Good and Fast theory/hypothesis.

I really do not know if this is a proven theory or just a hypothesis, or simply a marketing phrase coined by some smart marketeers.

I heard from a friend of mine that there is a book on this, but I am still not sure if this author is the first person to use this phrase.

Anyway, I do NOT claim credit on this phrase..

Basically, you can only have two:

1) Cheap and fast, but it won't be good or

2) Cheap and good, but it won't be fast or

3) Fast and good, but it won't be cheap.

Being me, may I have all three, please??

..but in real life, you may even get not cheap, not good and not fast!

So, if you get two out of three, rejoice and say your prayers!

Thanks goodness.... I am still alive!

Sex Survey... Live longer, have orgasm more often!

Was flipping through today's paper version of the Sunday Star.... nothing exciting any more...

..flip flip flip and this one caught my eyes!

In order to live longer, men have to have more orgasm. It did not mention that how or what is the way to achieve orgasm. As long as frequent orgasm, men will live longer.

More orgasm = lower mortality risk = longer life!

Being me, I guess there are three ways to achieve orgasm:

1) Sex

2) Self Masturbation

3) Wet dream

Observation:

The easiest way to achieve orgasm is self masturbation.

Conclusion:

Men can live longer without women!

damm... my wife sneaks up to me and read this..... I am as good as a virgin now!

How much is your virginity cost?

Sad... People will do anything for money. So, money does rule to a certain extend.

How much is your virginity worth? This 22 years old girl wants to capitalise on her firstime to the highest bidder...

She is willing to submit to a gynecological examination and lie detector test to prove she is really a virgin.

To read the reports, click at her picture. You can also click here to another site.

Yeah right... I am a father of 3, and I am still virgin... I am willing to submit 3 doctor's examination report and lie detector test to prove that I am still a virgin... (I am willing to give 50% to the 3 doctors and the lie detector tester).

Now, who wants my virginity... I need money to send my kids to overseas for good educations.

Bid starts at USD1,000,000... for girls, ladies, aunties and women... any takers?

sigh... it's a mad world.

Bring the bank home!

Let's say I also got nuffnang cheque... yahoo.... not bad. Who wants new pair of shoes?

What do you do when you receive a cheque from Nuffnang?

1) Write a blog to brag about it.

2) Post it at http://innit.nuffnang.com/ to show off and generate some fame nang for yourself.

3) Goto the nearest bank or cheque deposit machine.

4) blah blah blah

5) Damm bored now. Who got time to do these..!

STOP all these! I no need to go to the bank!

How??

Here is the solution....

HSBC is now doing a test. This test is so special that only the top top top brass from HSBC (your friend working there as a relationship manager also does not have access to this information!) in Malaysia and Singapore knew about this! I will tell you later how you can get this device.

They will bring the cheque deposit counter to your at home... or where ever you are and install it for you. This new system needs an internet line, a computer and devices from them. No joke. Simple only.

You need not be rich... as long as you have a cheque to deposit, they will entertain you. You know, you are their guinea pig pioneer customer using this device. They let you try this for 100 days. I just got mine a few days ago. Trying to keep quiet, but I can't ever since I got the Nuffnang cheque.. I want to share this info with fellow Nuffnangers.

There is a catch. You need to fill up a 100 pages report after the testing period. This report will determine if HSBC will bring it into the Malaysian/Singaporean market. Personally, I think this will be a success... with the trafic jam here and there, and lately thunderstorm, who wants to go out just to bank in a cheque, right?

Yes, you can now deposit cheques electronically without ever going to the bank. Now that is what I call an international bank. High class. Damm efficient and innovative. They can read the minds of their customer, and I just got lucky to test this!

You just need this:

You also need this security device:

This is the special security login device. Every authorised depositor will be given one.

After the login, (the bank advise me that this is confidential, and I got signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement, so I cannot tell what is the process...) you just scan your cheque. Just like that.

  • Both sides of each check are scanned in one pass
  • A detailed report appears on your computer screen
  • Software reads both written and numerical amounts
  • Your check if you need to make ammendments. (you know OCR never 100% correct)
  • When you are happy, click of a button and the images are transmitted to HSBC
  • Deposit confirmation notice is sent back to you via the system

With this new system you can:
  • Save time and Reduce Costs – No need to go to the bank, just switch on your computer and deposit the cheque using the Remote Deposit Capture... just that. No need to fill up any deposit slips. No pen also never mind!
  • Improve your cash flow – Cheque deposited will be credited within the same day, provided you deposit it before 9:00pm.
  • Benefit from more Convenience – Make deposits 24/7/365 from the security and comfort of your home. No need to queue or stuck in the stupid traffic jam. No need to find car park. No transport also never mind! So that you have more time to surf porn blog.
  • Access to your Check Images – Printable and Savable Images of your Deposited Checks and any Returned Checks at your fingertips for 7 years through real-time retrieval of images.
  • Reduce errors – Remote Deposit Capture optical character recognition technology (OCR) utilizes both courtesy amount recognition (CAR) and legal amount recognition (LAR) from checks and validates deposit balances, reducing (and not eliminating) keying errors and the need to input check amounts. So simple, even a dungu also can do it.
According to the bank, the above may changes when they implement it in Malaysia/Singapore.

The future of banking

Note:

This technology is already available in USe

Click the link here to access to the HSBCnet site, Please view the demo video too!

See, I did not tell a lie, right?

Star!

I don't want to be a star.
It is not easy being a star!

But I am not afraid of hard work.
Being a star comes with high expectations.

High expectations breed stress.
Stress breed high pressure.

High pressure causes problem.
Problem needs to be solved.

And stars are expected to solve it
Solving takes time

Time is limited
but I am a star!

What can I do!?

Life goes on...

Quote from former PM of Malaysia: Tun Dr Mahatir Mohamad

Blocking Blogs

1. When a Government makes a promise to the country and then reneges on its promise, then not only will the Government lose credibility but also any respect that the public may have for it.
