Kinky food... anyone?

Well, by now you should have guessed that I am a Chinese blogger. Being a typical Chinese, we eat almost anything under the sun.

Eating is for survival or for the health benefits, or more correctly certain food is taken for the perceived value it provide the body, if consumed.

The following is a glass of homemade Snow Jelly, yummy!:

Well, looks tasty right? My mums made this for me because I had been coughing for the past few days. After taken this, I felt better already.


QUESTION: Will you drink this?


This is how the package looks like..... you can get this in any 'reputable' chinese sinseh (or the traditional chinese pharmacy). I am not sure if Watson, Guardian or any similar modern pharmacy is carrying this product.

My mum mumbles... it cost a hundred something.... blah blah.. for a pack of this! One pack can make 4 to 5 servings. Not cheap eh... so it must be good.


This is how it looks like.... before cooking.



You need to soak this for a few hours, and steam it for another few hours with red dates, rock sugar and some pandan leave (optional).

Who did this...?

Damm... there goes one of my mum's favourite tupperware. This time, the culprit is not the kids but I have a suspect in mind. I can only guess but I am not sure if this fella will be held responsible to this...

A much closer look.. and you may think that ke kids is so hungry until they are willing to chew the tupperware!



Look from the top.... the teeth mark, what a nicely crafted job... the white portion is still intact, left unharm. Well done.



A real close up of the damages... I may be able to ask Tupperware to buy this design... very cheap only.... offer me! Any other takers?

Blues Buster

Last night, I had done the September budget allocation and discovered that... I have left only a small sum to myself for spending.... all gone to bills, bills and more bills; also to feed the car for me and family to move around.

What a day.... felt 'rich' for a moment and before you can say cheese or arrghh... the money is gone.

How am I gonna sleep with this... this cannot go on and on and on...

Thought of going out for a drink and wondering where to go... who to invite... and then realised that it is still August, I better scrap that idea...

As a normal response to that frustation, I went to the kitchen and look for anything to cheer me up... and I found this...


The label says...



.. imported stuff... must be good one! DO not believe me.... they also have a 'Decree of sort for this... ' the German call this.. The Purity Law!


Still do not believe me.... well even the Friar is drinking this... you know, like the Chinese food "Monk Jumps over the wall"...



..see they even have a picture of a person looks like a friar on the bottle... must be really that good!


Tada.... may I present to you... my only bottle of Franziskaner Weissbier.... left in my fridge... My sister attended her Company Dinner and this is what her boss gave her.... and it ended up in my fridge...

To really appreciate beer, you need to have drinking partners. Since I have only left one miserable bottle with super tight budget, and I refuse to start spending the September money... I need to have some bak kua... duh.. finished them even before Chap Goh Meh..

Wah... not bad... Yammmmm Sennggggggggggg! Can't remember when I had my last beer....


Wow.. not bad.... imported one you know... and as I am using it to drown my sorrow... I did not really have the time to taste it... It went down super fast... The only thing I can remember is it tasted smooth... and have a super after taste... hey.. this is not wine tasting...

I will definately get more of this to really drink it slowly.....

Can you believe this...

My colleague showed me a nice cute water bottle this morning... looks great and have the elite feel.

She got it from Starbucks


Ya.. the one on the left..

Wah.. so canggih, I told myself I must have one also.. cant wait till Starbucks open.

I took it... have a closer look and inspecting her the water bottle's bottom.. and I fainted!
